Acclima, Inc. manufactures SMART irrigation control systems governed
by soil moisture sensors. These Closed Loop Irrigation® systems operate by
real-time soil moisture content as measured by Acclima’s patented Digital
TDT® and Digital TDR® soil moisture sensors. Acclima systems are truly automatic,
they only water when necessary.
The Acclima Story
Scott Anderson, Acclima's founder and Chairman, developed
Acclima's revolutionary sensor after his retirement as an electrical
engineer for Hewlett Packard. Scott turned his attention to
irrigating his property and quickly became dissatisfied with
the state of the are in irrigation control. He found that timers
wasted water and that soil moisture sensor technologies on the
market provided only relative and unstable information due to
changing soil temperature, chemistry and compaction. Scott overcame
the problems by digitizing a time domain transmission signal and
patented the process. With Scott's development, Acclima brings
Closed Loop Irrigation® control to provide healthy turf and crops
while saving water, fertilizer and frustration.
